I’d be a fool not to mention a group of great guys that I met while I worked as a clinical research technician. All but the drummer were regular participants in our research studies as their “second” jobs. Their band is called Farewell Flight and not only is their music great but they have an awesome energy on stage as well. I actually have been meaning to get a post up about my very own first giveaway But anyways my favorite local artist is probably Rachel Ries, but I haven’t gone to one of her shows in a long time (silly me…). However the group I am most excited about right now is Swell Season (the couple from Once) because I am going to see them in December.

Rebekah – a couple of my college favs (like 4 of them) are all gone… Two of them were from my hometown (one of which is doing a small reunion tour, and will be in Chicago at the end of the month, Arrah and the Ferns — I have a story with this band, for later)… and two were from my college friends… It’s sad to see them go, but I’m glad I’ve got the memories I do, and the cds too!

Chealsea – I’ve seen you tweet about your band, definitely going to check you out! Also, I’m going to be posting videos of My Gold Mask soon. I’ve got a lot on YouTube already, but their last concert (Wednesday night) was absolutely awesome. A lot of the media stuff will be posted on Tumblr (http://pinkdinosaurs.tumblr.com)

My favorite local band is gone now – but they were my guys in college. I designed their first t-shirts and drew them for all the groupies with Sharpie. The band was called “Hazard to Ya Booty” (yeah, I know) and they played mostly funk. It was a bunch of the goofy band nerds I hung out with, so those boys could PLAY.

I miss them now.
